Sisters is like a National Lampoon for girls. Lots of silliness, a few genuinely funny moments, trashing a house, what’s not to love? I adore Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, two very talented and hilarious women and I was looking forward to seeing them together in a film, but it just fell flat for me. Rated 15 , no doubt for the ‘extreme swearing’ and lots of vagina talk which I don’t have any objection to at all but it felt gratuitous at times, as did the stereotypical depiction of gay women. What was that all about? I did laugh out loud several times, and I was on my own in the cinema, so I noticed! If you do go and see it don’t jump up too quickly when the credits roll, the best bit for me were the outtakes. Fey and Poehler au naturel would be preferable to being shoehorned into a formulaic script.
